Twilight Lights
Electronic Firefly
General
Each unit has ten yellow Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) a pattern selection switch, an on / off switch and a photocell that turns the unit on at dusk.

The unit  may be used outdoors if the controller box is protected from moisture.  ( In dry climates a baggie and tie wrap may be all that's needed. Make sure the open end is down.) The LEDs are sealed to make them rain resistant, but don't submerge them.

The basic firefly mode blinks the LEDs to imitate real fireflies. A push button allows selection of additional light patterns.

Battery Life

Battery life is currently being re-evaluated due to design changes. Until the new data is available please consider this as a rough guide only.

The unit uses 2 AA batteries and employs special current saving design to provide long battery life. Battery life varies from up to a year in patterns where few lights are rarely on to a low of about a month at an hour a day in patterns like five chase and waterfall where most lights are on most the time. We expect a battery life of up to one year for the firefly pattern used for one hour every evening. Battery life will vary with temperature, and the type of battery used. This is a low drain device and will work with any AA battery. Alkalines work longest. Titaniums work fine but probably will give no extra life in this low drain device, so save your money. Remember dead and old batteries often leak so we recommend a good name brand and changing them before that happens. Towards the end of life the lights will be much dimmer.

If you have an unusual application that uses most lights  12 or 24 hours a day battery life will be much shorter  and you may wish to contact us for a model that can run off an AC powered battery eliminator.
