Welcome
to the home page of an
Solitary Eclectic Pantheistic Agnostic Zen Kitchen Witch
A Ritual
About the only outward sign of my beliefs is taking some time to do ritual about once a month.

So what do all those labels above mean to me?

In an Eclectic room you will find a little of this, a little of that, some things selected for their beauty, some for there usefulness. Some things ready to be tossed out. Some worn and comfortable.

A Pantheist sees the divine in the world all around and also in himself.

The Agnostic doesn't know if God or the Supernatural  or the Divine is real or imagined and thinks those who claim to know the truth are probably mistaken.

In Zen I see patience, a determination to understand the world better, the ability to see a question from many sides, the ability to simply be, discipline, contentment and a path of continual learning.

In the kitchen a cook uses what suits his tastes and  skills to make something tasty and healthy. Tries different things and keeps what works and discards what doesn't.

The Witch feels a connection to the world and earth and knows the values and dangers of ritual and wishes and knowledge and self delusion. I like the feelings of self worth, the impact of ritual on life, the sense of belonging and connectedness, the awareness of the differences of male and female and the importance and value of both. I like the  acceptance of others  belief systems and the fact that most witches don't "push" their beliefs as the "one true way".

Solitary simply means that I'm not a member of a group or coven.

These things all go together well for me. I use what I find good and healthy and discard the rest.

Many witches are Wiccan. My Pagan beliefs grew out of what they practice. For Wiccans there are two rules most accept.. Harm none and do what you will is one, the other is that the good or harm you put out in the world will come back to you.

There is great variation in beliefs among Pagans.  Some of us make it up as we go.  Others believe their rituals have been passed down through the ages. Anything you read may or may not apply to a given person or group or coven.

Knowing  someone "is"  Hindu, Atheist, Agnostic, Buddhist, Jew, Christian, Witch, gives you little knowledge of what they really believe, whether they are honest, caring, good to be around, an asset or liability to the community. The only way to find out what someone believes and practices is to talk to them.

If you want to know more about Witches the best place to start is  probably the Witches Voice.
